CHAPTER 1: SHOULD HAVE BEEN A STRATEGIST
Hello there readers. Mind Matters page welcomes you to this new series of chapter reviews on the Book "Can't Hurt Me". The very first chapter states the advantages of being a statistic. We all would pursue to have a strategic plan in order to achieve our goals. In this part of the story, he describes the importance of being strategic by comparing the life scenarios that he had with his father who had a local business running successfully and which is famous in their locality.
Goggin's started to analyze the reason behind his father's successful business. His father always had plans to handle all kinds of situations like hardships. This just reminds me of a fantasy character, Batman. we all know that Batman is unlike the other superheroes. He is just an ordinary human who chooses to master his own potential. He has mastered his mind to conquer his body.
The best character arc that we can see in Batman is that his biggest arch-nemesis is likely to be the Joker. They both share almost the same traumas but, one chose to suffer for the betterment of his environment while the other chose to destroy his environment. They both are the best strategists. To be the best to each other they learned the skill of strategy.
Just like David Goggin took his inspiration from his father to develop the skill of strategy, I took my inspiration from that character. To be a strategist you need to develop your focus, and analyzing skills, and the most important thing you need to build Discipline.
These three are the key features to help a person to be a strategist. The first one we gonna talk about is Focus. Without Focus, you cannot understand the situation properly. without the proper understanding of the problem, we cannot find a solution. To improve your focus, Always break your problems into smaller sub-problems and by finding solutions to them we can find the way for the bigger one.
The next one that needs attention is the analyzing skills, Here we use the Brainstorming technique. Which is basically writing all the possible ways that can help us to solve the problem. after brainstorming, mind map those to get a clear vision of what we are gonna do about the crisis.
The last and final one, which is the most important of all the other two. Discipline. Without discipline, we can't finish the task or action that we had planned all along. Acquiring discipline is all this book tells about. It's a mind game rather than a physical one. Goggins believes that the human body is capable of the impossible for a person with an armored mind. By combining all these three features, we can develop the skill of being strategic. See you guys in the next chapter "TRUTH HURTS" of this series, until then this is your thamizh, signing off...
