"The Art of Oratory"

Hello, there readers. Good to see you all with another informative context through my blog page. Today's topic will be somewhat skill oriented, which is really indeed a requirement to maintain a good relationship with our career as well as personal life. By the way, without any further ado, let's get into the context of the day, which is gonna be "Public speaking".

What is public speaking? why do we need that skill?

Public speaking is somewhat different from normal speaking. we all know the difference between how we speak with our friends and with our professors. There are a lot of formal and informal differences between them. To be a presentable and attractive person start working on your communication skill. Well, a good communicator always maintains a good relationship with his career life as well as family life.

How to make people listen to you:

The best way to make people listen to you is to remember a single word every time you speak to people. That word is "HAIL"

  • H stands for "Honesty"- Be clear and straight about your statement.
  • A stands for "Authenticity"- Be who you are because you are unique. You think differently which need not be the same as everyone else.
  • I stands for "Integrity"- Be ethical with your actions as well as words. Stand up for what you said.
  • L stands for "Love"- This love is not that romantic way of love. Here what I mean is all about being kind and soft to people while you speak, especially in a public forum.
Beginner guide list to be a public speaker:

STEP1: "Get inspired"
Everyone is a newbie when we start things new. There will always be a spark for every single thing that we do. That might happen because of a person, incident, or any other thing. that's what we call an "inspiration". Find an inspiration who's good at public speaking, This implies to every aspect of work.

STEP 2: "Seek Example"
Watch videos, read blogs of the person who you are inspired, and then observe them and learn from them. Let me help you with this. There are a lot of videos of public speakers speaking available on youtube. One such channel where you can find awesome speeches of great public speakers is Ted Talks

STEP 3: "Watch your language"
what I meant up there is both body language and your choice of words while speaking to the public or even with your own family and friends. The perfect choice of words is the words that should never negatively project your character. Be wise over being optimistic or pessimistic. On the other hand, Improvise your body posture, and shake hands while speaking, improvise facial expression, maintain eye contact while speaking to attract your audience.

STEP 4: "Voice tone and breathe control"
You should be aware of voice tone while delivering your speech. This is like homophones. Same statement but the change of voice tone might change its entire meaning. So watch your voice tone by all means. Talking of breathing control don't rush your speech. Be steady and calm while you speak. Take your own time to deliver your context.

STEP 5: "Brainstorming and Hints Making"
Brainstorming is nothing but listing out all the valid points that you are going to include in your speech which enhances the quality of your content. Create hints which help you revise all the topics you planned for the speech so you don't miss out on any points.

STEP 6: "Know your audience"
A good public speaker always knows about their audience. Deliver your speech accordingly. You cant entertain or attract children by delivering an excellent intellectual speech about world politics. Deliver your speech content reliably to understand the audience.

STEP 7: "Use visual tools and interact with the audience"
Visual tools are one of the best things you can perform to connect with your audience. The ppt presentation or a Q&A type of public speaking is always engaged with involvement and joy. Visual tools also make it easier to understand what you are saying.

STEP 8: "Talk in front of the mirror and ask for reviews from your friends and family"
Before stepping onto an actual stage and talking in front of the public check whether you are doing things like I mentioned in the above steps. Speaking in front of a mirror allows you to understand your speech from a spectator's point of view. Ask for reviews from your surroundings who help you to become a good public speaker.

STEP 9: "Do Rehearsal"
Rehearsing before your actual speech on the stage should be on point. It is where you get the opportunity to rectify things and make last-minute adjustments to your speech (if needed). Always rehearse on the stage where you're going to speak. It makes it easy for you to speak as you have done so many rehearsals previously on the same stage.

STEP 10: "Learn to handle criticism"
To be honest with you all. Criticism never ends. It will always be there with you, it never leaves. Human behaviors are like that naturally, you can never satisfy a person to 100% and it's normal too. So accept your criticisms and start working on your strengths. Choose progression over being perfect.

Conclusion:
Hope this blog would make new public speakers.
