"Newbie researcher" - A Tale

Heyy there folks. Hope you all  are doing well and good with your life. This is my second blog post in this page. Today iam gonna share my experience of writing a research proposal which is literally new to me itself😅. First of all iam so grateful for this opportunity to write a research proposal in my UG level.

Generally writing a research paper was a bit hard even for the intellect minds because, the topic of the research should be crisp as well as elaborative. There should not be any plagiarism which literally made a hell out of me 🥲...

Being an undergraduate student in the field of chemistry,i have never been so good with my subject to be honest but at the same time I always wanted to do something out of my comfort zone, experiment something new, learn new. I always thought about trying something new and learning from it. We were 3 in a team to write this research proposal. To be honest with you guys,we three of us don't know anything about the topic, when we were assigned during those initial days. we literally struggled a lot to understand the concept of our topic, fortunately we had the best guide who taught us how to write a research paper and explained all the concepts behind our topic. He was one of our super senior.

It was so hard to collect all the research paper and articles of other authors over the last few years to analyse what they were missing. It has to be something new in order to stand out from the crowd.we read those all papers for days and literally it was hard for us in the first place but,we came over that and took our shot.

Our topic was "DYE SENSITIZED SOLAR CELLS".This may seem like a general topic for the PG graduates from the field of chemistry but, what makes our paper unique is the "Organic dyes" which are cost effective and as well as reusable considered to the other dyes.

In simple words it's like a solar panel.we all know the working principle of solar panel. It converts the solar energy into electrical energy.our research is also similar to solar panels but,in solar panels silicon dyes would be used which are costlier and cannot be reused. Whereas we can use alternative organic dyes which are cost effective as well as reusable.

Organic dyes such as squariene which absorbs the solar energy (photons) and and excited the electrons from the ground state to higher state  and thus those electrons undergo a reaction and forms a circuit by connecting to a semiconductor such as (TiO2). Through this process of excitation of electrons, electricity can be produced.

By researching with "Dye sensitized solar  cell (DSSC)",it leads to the pathway of synthesizing new organic dyes with more effeciency. The only drawback that we had till now is the effeciency of organic dye have been estimated from 8-14% only.

I hope that, with future technology we can find new elements to produce organic dyes and able to synthesizing them according to our will in order to maximize their efficiency.

Experiencing this kind of knowledge is literally a fortune for a UG graduate. This platform and opportunity have gained me a lot of subject knowledge and as well as personality traits such as "patience, creativity, and how to write as a professional, etc;". Before writing this research proposal i was no way near to read 10-12 articles a day consistently.😅🙂

thus, iam so greateful and proud of myself for not giving up and taking up new challenges in order to climb the ladder of success. I have changed.I became better. Iam happy about my change but at the same time I want everyone who is reading this blog to level up.Tough time never lasts,Tough people last.so work on yourself. see you all again with another content. This is thamizh signing off.

                              Peace out❤️
